<p>Java Chat est un client IRC programmé par mes soins, en Java. Il permet donc de se connecter à un serveur de chat pour discuter avec vos amis.

IL est actuellement disponible dans sa toute première version bêta (0.1.101 bêta); soyez donc indulgent envers les nombreux bugs que ce programme comporte encore certainement.

</p><p><em>Attention : </em> Ce programme requiert l'installation de la JRE (Java Runtime Environment) 1.4 ou supérieure. </p><h3>Ce que peut faire JavaChat</h3>
<p>Voici une liste des principales fonctionnalités du programme : </p>
<ul>
<li>Se connecter, se déconnecter à un serveur IRC de chat en direct</li>
<li>Joindre et partir des canaux de discussion, sans limitation de nombre simultanés de canaux, sauf dans le cas où c'est le serveur qui décide un nombre maximum.</li>
<li>Afficher des informations à propos des utilisateurs connectés</li>
<li>Possibilité de régler des comportements automatiques (envoyer un message, jouer un son, afficher une alerte, etc) liés aux différents évènements des canaux (un utilisateur rejoint, part d'un canal, vous envoie un message privé, est exclu du canal, etc)</li>
<li>Le programme ne peut se connecter qu'à un seul serveur de chat à la fois.</li>
